Archipelago kingdom off the eastern coast of Cathay. Although it claims to be an empire, it is far too small by Europan standards.

Nihon is exceedingly xenophobic – even more so than neighbouring Cathay. Although Pertuesan traders and their Iberian allies have made inroads, and Ecclesiarchal missionaries have managed to make conversions among both the nobles and peasants, their position in Nihon is precarious at best, thanks to the capricious and violent nature of the ruling samurai.
