San Cristobal

The rather insignificant island on which a Tyrrhenian navigator made landfall, on behalf of the crowned heads of Iberia, over a century ago. It’s indigenous inhabitants are gone , and the sole place of occupation there is an old fortress, defending Iberian interests on the island from nothing. A ship of war is kept moored offshore (mostly), so this historical footnote does serve as a small cog in a large military machine.
